Community Events
HHA Nights 2011
Mr. Hornbeck would like to personally invite every HHA
family and community member to join us at the 5th Annual
Hampstead Hill Nights extravaganza.

If
you have never come to one of these wonderful evenings,
you are in for a real treat.

There
is live music featuring some of the best bands in
Baltimore as well as grilled food, Rita’s Water Ice,
games for the kids, face painting, and more. Prices are
very reasonable and the fun factor is sky high. HHA
staff volunteer their time to make the event really
special. Please join us from 6-8 p.m. for three
Thursdays in May – May 12th, May 19th and May 26th. Tell
your friends and neighbors to come on by. All are
welcome.
The Community Service Project - A New Name
The Community
Service Project, the volunteer group made-up of
approximately 25 middle school students, has accomplished so
much this year that they have been recognized by the Kiwanis
International as a Builders Club. The Kiwanis Club of East
Baltimore is sponsoring the club. So far this year, the club has
volunteered with the Baltimore Animal Rescue Center’s annual
fundraiser, visited Future Care Nursing Home once a month to
make a small craft with the residents, helped with decorations
for the HHA spring musical, and had a Valentine’s Day candy gram
sale to benefit the Make a Wish Foundation. Still to come this
year, the students will: participate in the 4 Mile March of
Dimes Walk on Sunday, May 3rd; help out at HHA Nights; and host
another candy gram sale before the school year ends. This is a
tremendous group of students with whom Miss Howell and Ms.
Jackson are honored to work. We cannot wait to see what they
will do next year.
The Kiwanis Club of East Baltimore
Make the
Neighborhood a better place for children – JOIN THE KIWANIS CLUB
The Kiwanis Club of East Baltimore has served the Southeast
Baltimore community for almost 60 years. They have a generous
and long-standing relationship with Hampstead Hill – sponsoring
our playground and our bi-annual Terrific Kids program. The club
is seeking new members. Their main focus is to serve children in
the neighborhood. Any parent or family member – especially those
of Terrific Kids – is invited to attend a meeting to see what
the club is about. Meetings are Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. at the
Abbott Memorial Presbyterian Church located at Highland Avenue
and Bank Street. See Mr. Hornbeck for more information.
